The only places where Sling has the advantage are in STARZ ($9/mo to DIRECTV NOW's $11), and EPIX (DIRECTV NOW doesn't have it). So unless you really like EPIX, DIRECTV NOW is the one to go with here. A $6.50 per month fee applies for each 4K Genie Mini receiver installed in the home. Q. Didn't I read awhile back that DIRECTV Now would have 4K? Did they ever do it? If so, which shows and channels are in 4K? — Jim, Corsicana, Texas. Topaz labs serial key 2017.
Jim, I am glad you asked that question because AT&T, which owns DIRECTV, and DIRECTV Now, said way back in 2017 that the live streaming service would soon offer 4K. (DIRECTV already offered live and On Demand 4K.) Company executives later said it would be ‘early 2018' when it would introduce 4K on DIRECTV Now, and, sometime after that, they said it would be the spring of 2018.
Well, it's a month from the spring of 2019 and DIRECTV Now still doesn't offer 4K.
Open source rendering engine. AT&T has not explained why the launch of 4Khas been delayed, nor provided a new launch date. Meanwhile, fuboTV last summer became the first, and still only, live streaming service to offer live and/or On Demand 4K programming.
How To Get 4k On Directv
Before you criticize AT&T for failing to deliver on its promise, it's not uncommon for a technology company to miss a launch date, even by a full year or more. Saying you're going to do something is a lot different than actually getting it done in this industry. Technology and market conditions often change from the original statement, pushing back well-intentioned deadlines.
But with DIRECTV Now's sub growth now in rapid decline, AT&T would be wise to accelerate its effort to bring 4K to the live streaming audience. There is relatively little 4K programming available on the market, and DIRECTV Now could win over some new customers with an interesting 4K lineup.

Widsmob screen recorder 1 1 download free. DIRECTV this week plans to offer select coverage of the 2020 Masters Golf Tournament from Augusta, Georgia in 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range) for the third straight year.
The Masters, arguably the sport's most prestigious tournament, will take place from Thursday, November 12, through Sunday, November 15. (The event was postponed from last spring due to the Coronavirus pandemic.)
DIRECTV will offer 4K coverage of the ‘Amen Corner' holes (11th, 12th and 13th holes) and the 15th and 16 holes each day of the four-day event. The Amen Corner 4K coverage will be on channel 105 while the 4K coverage of the 15th and 16th holes will be on channel 106.
It's unclear what time play will begin each day on the 4K holes, but DIRECTV's guide says channel 105 will go live each day at 7:30 a.m. Forecast bar 2 7 2. ET while channel 106 will begin broadcasting at 8 a.m. ET.
The satcaster aired The Masters in 4K in 2016 and 2017, but began offering it in 4K HDR in 2018. High Dynamic Range can make the 4K picture seem more realistic and vivid.
On Thursday, November 12, DIRECTV will also offer a 4K broadcast of the NFL Thursday Night Football game between the Titans and Colts, starting at 8 p.m. ET.
To watch a live 4K event on DIRECTV, you must need a 4K-enabled receiver and a Choice or above programming package. The satcaster also offers 4K broadcasts of college football games and Major League Baseball in season, among other sports.
